It was the night before Christmas and all through the house ...
Well actually, there we were and the Seems
dropped by on their whirlwind visit back to
Princeton where they thought Santa Claus would find them. Suzanne
seemed glad to see them and brought out holiday nuts
as Mary and Jane
watched and Lauren showed off her cosmopolitan
in colors that would make Santa happy. Sarah was still looking very woozy
from the late night and the drugs she was taking to cure the after effects
of the disease she had gotten.
Lauren posed for this sequence of photos
taking care to never have the drink reach her mouth (for advertising purposes)
which made Boot happy
since he would be driving later. Someone managed to capture this
rare picture of David
who seemed to have caught some of Sarah's wooziness. And, we got
one of the last pictures of Nancy
before she gets her glasses.
At this point, we gave the camera to Mary (having not learned our lesson
a few weeks earlier) and let her do avant garde photography. She
captured Boot
then David and Lauren
and Suzanne
and some crowd shots including a clearer version of Sarah
and less clear versions of others
before the avant garde photography began
interrupted only by this photo of your truly
and then back to the artistic work.
They were in a hurry to leave
but we were able to calm them down for one last clear picture
of the Seems before they departed for their massive dinner.
We then braved the traffic down Nassau Street taking extra care to
avoid the flying reindeer overhead that threw off our GPS and
made us unusually late for the Justs who had already eaten the hors d'ouveres
but had enough food for me to make this wonderful plate of too much to eat
which made Steven and Sara happy
especially as Lizzie shone behind the candle,
Suzanne and Benjamin enjoyed the food,
Jane stared into space,
Peter stared further,
and Rory would only give us this side view.
None of this helped Sarah
who was still woozy from the drugs and all. Seva and Richard
seemed very involved in the task of eating but hopefully not the
decorative baskets
that adorned the table. Seva was still there (and more clear)
after dinner when Jane returned from her walk down Prospect
Street with her battle scars a scraped arm
and torn pants
acquired while finding Rosie.
Together, Jane and Rosie took this picture of the triple header
atop the wall and then Rosie captured Jane.
After this, many adjourned from the heated discussed of the possible
need of a Star Wars defense shield to engage in a game of dominoes
where Benjamin started with this hand
as the others watched
and then got very engrossed
in seeing what move Rosie would make next
as the trains started
and Benjamin's joke book
stood idle.
The trains grew
as Benjamin watched
and grew further
as Suzanne watched
until move
after move
after move
led to the end of the game.
