Benjamin was staying a lying down strike and refusing to practice so I decided to drive down to Philadelphia later that week and parked here by the prison as I observed the flag on the front of the house opposite Dr Len's house. I stopped there and we headed off to do errands of various types.

First we went to the post office at this entrance but since Dr Len doesn't work there we had to go in the main door and DrLen did his business at this window while I took the obligatory stamp machine photo and then recorded the signage until DrLen had his package and so we were ready to leave. Across from the post office was this interesting sculpture and this triangular house and, of course, I took the obligatory phone booth picture as we drove towards South Philly passing the jazz club the pizza parlor the mural and the For Lease sign on our way to the Morning Glory where Len led the way in The menu looked good and especially the specials

DrLen has the Grilled chicken pasta salad and I had the papaya pancakes. Afterwards, I recorded all of the honors the restaurant has won to the delight of the waitress. We paid the check and I took the obligatory rest room photos for my collection before we headed off to Frank's garage where they had reserved a space for us.

In Frank's garage, Lenny has lots of signs some of which I captured here like these pictures of the saw from Nagelberg's Supply

and the ice cream sign and part of the pie man sign. I did some experiments with the GE sign and then caught more the ice cream sign before turning to the SunRay sign -- the mortar and pestle. and the Arthur's Fuel bus. Frank's place is great with the cord tangled a collection of fire extinguishers another of cones shopping carts of tools an elegant waste basket and this bucket of heavy chain. Upstairs, there is this thermometer that shows it was a warm day and this signage intermingled with a chest of sorting drawers a broken clock an old calendar and Nick's pictures

Afterwards, we were on to Termini bakery where the windows were nicely decorated and the door was the real McCoy.

Once inside, we were in a food photographers delight. Donuts and sticky buns next to cakes and ginger bread men and pastries fruity chocolate and cannoli The wall was covered with plaques of appreciation and a diploma from the CIA but even here the rules of commerce are harsh. After one more look at the racks we bought this which she kindly wrapped for us. We obeyed the signs but did try the samples. On the way out, I got pictures of the wedding ornaments Once back in the car, I opened my cannoli and ate it as we drove by some murals by Isaiah Zagar and this wall of blurry words. past the Circle K until we got to the building that Charlie is renovating. Work was going in all directions and across the street was the building that was just sold and the building that helped start the anchoring of the neighborhood. After a round of graffiti posters it was time to head home.

Saturday was a beautiful day. So, Benjamin and Jane and I decided to head out once Jane finished her picture. We walked past the veboten field where these guys had just played on the winning team. Ben pushed the button so that we could cross the street.

Breakfast was bagels from Abel's bagels where the menu partly obscured the preparer. Jane liked hers as did Ben and I in various views.

We stopped next at the Cingular office where this woman explained voice mail to us. We next paused to take a picture of the infamous and now reopened (hopefully sans anthrax) post office.

Next, it was on to the bricks. We started with the Love, Love, Love brick and next Gillespie's brick from both sides and the (former) governor's block with the mistake on it. We took 3 pictures of the Kramer's brick

On the way home, we stopped at Jane's thoughtful tree for some final pictures and then ran into Nathaniel and Rhonda at the seminary decorations making party.
