Jane and her class had spent the entire fall reading the Odyssey. Indeed it was their odyssey through the Odyssey and soon they would have spent more time on the book than the original trip took. To celebrate what we thought was the end of the book -- what did we know -- they had an odyssey celebration at which they showed their projects.

We started to explore and admired the chess set the board game and the book about the book when we ran into Priscilla Scheiner and then took a picture of her with Dan but it's impossible to ever get them both to open their eyes at the same time.

So it was back to projects -- the one made from PlayMobil another chess set some Lego the Olympians and the finest project of all which was, most unfortunately, destroyed by a teacher who then blamed it on the principal. This concern didn't take away from Phil Haimm's good mood and Lucy and Rosie and the Crans and Fred were still willing to pose even though Jojo did his raincoat over the head imitation and Jane was only giving side views even as Fred's story excited the assembled.

The project group and its inner core posed for team pictures as the crowds gathered and the man with the white beard appeared but there was still a diorama to see and the ancient Greek recited for everyone's amusement as Kevin posed with Anna to bring an end to our odyssey.

It having been an odyssey, it seemed to make sense to record my hat in the car and the outside and inside and outside from our odyssey home where we were met by Meredith who was drinking tea instead of taking her own odyssey. Or maybe tea is part of her odyssey?
